| Summary: | The paper deals with a database application, which scope is to assist during preliminaty design of wooden nail plate trusses. The same application can be used for archiving the designs. The main idea is to use the old designs efficiently, because there are a lot of old designs made using a CAD-system. The program is written for Paradox and some subroutines (e.9. a graphical presentation of the design) is written using ANSI C. The most essential data of the old design stored to the database are the project data, material and geometrical entities, loading data and the structural design data. Also, the grouping of different types of trusses is essential in order to use the database application efficiently. All this information is available, because the data has been transferred to the database from the "object oriented" CAD-system during last ten years. |
