Paper title: The building model revisited:a conceptual object model forarchitectural design in the early design stage
Authors: Hendricx A
Summary: When building an architectural model from the beginning on computer, a central object modelof the design process is essential: a model that describes all architectural entities used by thearchitect, the constraints on these entities and relations between them, together with the basicoperations they undertake. This model should be able to support a great variety of designapproaches. Appropriate interfaces with existing software packages provide the opportunity toperform all kind of tests on the design, allowing the different actors in the design process tomake use of the model's data. A first prototype model built using the conceptual designmethod M.E.R.O.DE (Modeldriven Entity-Relationship Object-oriented Development) ispresented.
